NicoYaps Presents: New York, London, Paris, Munich, Everybody Talk About… POP MUSIC!!!

Hi, my name is Nico, and I like to yap. This is a blog I started because I want to get my thoughts on Music out of my mind and into the world.

Ever since I was young, I really liked music. I’m not really sure why I gravitated towards it, but it’s something that I can’t get out of my head (stay tuned for whenever I review ELO’s ElDorado), and I feel the need to share it with you, the reader.

I originally started reviewing music recommended by my friends sometime in 10th grade, and throughout the rest of high school, I fleshed out my writing skills, to the point where I was writing full-on opinion essays about individual albums and songs. I was an English kid in high school so it came to me naturally…

I always had a marked interest in Popular Music, both of the past and present, and I do hope one day to convert the posts I make here into actual YouTube videos. But for now, you won’t have to deal with my voice :)

Anyways, here’s what you can expect to see on this blog:

  1. Top Ten (or Five, or 15, depending on the given year) Worst / Best Hit Songs of Years lists. These will use the Billboard Hot 100 Year-Ends in a way similar to older Sean Fay Wolfe-Diamond Axe Studios lists (I’m a fan of his)
  2. Album / Song reviews, mainly Pink Floyd and ELO, as well as anything that I gravitate towards.
  3. 3. Year-End Hot 100 rankings. These will be out later, due to being a much more comprehensive, reflective way of listing Popular Music.

If you have any suggestions, please let em rip in the comment section.

As for scheduling, I don’t really know when I will drop my lists and reviews, but I will try and keep you guys as up-to-date on them as I can. Some patience will be necessary for this blog, as I don’t have infinite free-time.

I was inspired to do this after reading through Pop Goes The Year, a now-dead blog that did a similar thing to what I’m currently doing. My other inspirations were various miscellaneous blogs, and the YouTube channels Diamond Axe Studios, The Double Agent, and Lyzette G.
